SUMMER 2018 GROWTH GROUPS:
1%-ers WEIGHT MANAGEMENT
June 25-July 30
Pastor Les invites you to join him for this new six-week weight loss management group. The 1%-ers will meet weekly at a time yet to be determined.
Participants will be encouraged to lose 1% of their body weight per week (no more and no less). We will all do weekly weight management techniques and strategies as a group. The goal for our sessions will be fun, educational, and encouraging. Contact the church office for more details.
THIS IS MY STORY :: THIS IS MY SONG
It seems that our culture has become very polarized … it’s “us vs. them”. But what is it that makes us different from one another? We become the people we are, with our thoughts and opinions, because of our life’s experiences. And far too often, we never know the life journeys of our friends and co-workers. Deb Livingston and Chuck Kaufmann invite you to join them this summer to share our stories with one another. By listening to one another’s stories, we might learn a little bit more about each other … and perhaps even ourselves. Contact the church office for more details.
HOT TOPIX - Second Tuesday of the month at Noon and Second Thursday of the month at 6PM
Join Chuck Kaufmann for lunch/dinner and discussion at a local restaurant. The discussion at each gathering is based on current “hot topics” in the news, and how these issues affect our faith journey. The location will be announced to those who sign up; you can sign up on the Connection Card on Sunday morning or by calling the church office.
Do you have an idea for a small group? Let the church office know what it is. What’s your passion? Host a small group about it! Be creative. If you would like to become involved in a small group and have some questions, give the church office a call and we’ll be glad to help you.
The mission of Charlton Church is “to make, grow, and equip disciples.” We do that through the groups that meet to study, serve and fellowship together so that we can become more like Jesus and serve him better. Charlton offers a range of opportunities to grow as a follower of Christ and this fall several groups will form to give you a chance to meet with others who are on the same path of growth. The groups will gather weekly to discuss their chosen theme, share their experiences and concerns, pray for their health and continued growth, and probably enjoy some not-so-healthy snacks. It is likely that they will also plan some alternative time to “play” together and a means to serve the church or community as a group.
Some groups meet throughout the year but welcome new members any time.
Where two or three are gathered in my name: I am among them.
